Event Navigation

Celebrate the arrival of winter at this star-themed festival, in partnership with The Philadelphia School.  As the earth takes its turn towards the winter solstice, we’ll look above and explore the stars.  Create star ornaments and crafts for the upcoming holidays, take a twilight walk as the stars emerge, and come to our live animal show to check out nocturnal and wintery animals.  As darkness sets in, enjoy a bonfire and s’mores under the stars and use our telescope for a closer look at the night sky.  To cap it all off, the Franklin Institute’s chief astronomer, Derrick Pitts, helps you discover the wonders of a starry night.

Schuylkill Center member price: $5
