Field Studies at the Schuylkill Center
Welcome to your outdoor classroom!
Act 48 Professional Development
The Schuylkill Center is approved by the PA Department of Education to offer Act 48 Professional Development workshops. Typically offered during the summer months, these workshops focus on current environmental issues and strategies for outdoor learning. Visit our website in the spring for current workshop offerings.
Native Plant Nursery
Planning an outdoor classroom or sensory garden at your school? The Schuylkill Centerís nursery grows and sells a wide variety of native flowers, grasses and shrubs. Visit our website for more information.
Our one quarter acre sustainably managed farm is an exciting place where children and adults alike can come to learn about different cycles on the farm. The education farm is the perfect outdoor classroom where visitors and participants in our various programs learn to literally be in touch with where our food comes from and relationship between ecosystems and our lives. Children, school groups, and community members assist the farmer in planting, harvesting, and maintaining the farm. For information on volunteering or to schedule a class visit, please call 215-482-7300, x110.
