Philadelphia Envirothon![]() The Envirothon is an academically oriented program of study for high school students, focused on the environment, which culminates in a day of competition at The Schuylkill Center. Many high schools use the Envirothon as a focal point for an extracurricular club. Other high schools incorporate the five content areas of the Envirothon (Aquatic Ecology, Wildlife, Soils, Forestry and a yearly Current Issue) into an environmental science course. The Center receives generous funding from Rohm & Haas Company to support teams of students and their faculty advisors as they prepare for the Envirothon. The winner of the Philadelphia County Envirothon advances to the Pennsylvania Envirothon that is typically held in late May. The state-wide winners then move onto attend the North American Envirothon competition. For a complete description of the Envirothon program of study, please visit www.envirothonpa.org.
