Wildlife Explorer
June 21-25

Do you enjoy observing animals and plants in the
wild? Here’s your chance to learn more about
wildlife! Make your own nature journal and record
your observations as we study The Schuylkill Center’s
diverse habitats. You’ll become a naturalist-in-training
as we study birds, mammals, reptiles, insects and
the clues they leave behind. Observe nocturnal animals
when we camp overnight at The Center. This
week also includes a day trip to Hawk Mountain.

Water Watchers
June 28 - July 2
• Members: $290
• Non-members: $310
This adventure trek is devoted to water and the
animals that make aquatic habitats their
homes. You and your fellow campers will conduct
water testing at several different sites, and
will learn the basics of angling through a program
promoted and designed by the
Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. We’ll
take fishing trips to the Schuylkill River and the
John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge. We’ll go
for a swim at Shelley Ridge Pool, and end the
week with a splash when we take a tubing trip
down the Delaware River!

Great Nature Escapes
July 6 - July 9
• Members: $240

• Note: this is a 4 day session due to the
July 4th holiday
If you love to explore the great outdoors, this
is the perfect adventure for you! Each day will
find us on a local outdoor trek, starting with a
Wissahickon hike. Later in the week, a visits to
Valley Forge National Park, French Creek
State Park, and tubing on the Delaware will be
part of our fun-filled line-up!

Adventure Camp:Young Spelunkers!
July 12-16

If you’ve ever wondered about the wildlife that lives
in caves, you’re in for a week of awesome adventure!
We’ll start the week learning about geological
formations and the rock cycle. Next, we’ll tour
Penn’s Cave in Centre County, Pennsylvania,
where we’ll pan for gemstones! We’ll also explore
a wild cave for an authentic spelunking experience.
Be sure to make time for star gazing when we
spend the night at the Greene Hills campsite.

Climbing Higher Heights!
July 19-23

This special Adventure Trek will challenge you to
release your inhibitions and build self-esteem in a
natural setting. The week begins with team building
and trust activities. Experience a local low and high
ropes course, learn about trees, and get a guided
tree climbing lesson from our guest tree tender!
We’ll end the week with an organized rock climbing
experience and campout at nearby Ralph Stover
State Park.

Adventure Camp: Archery and The Shore!
July 26-30

Get in touch with your inner Robin Hood! This
Adventure Trek is devoted to patience, aim, and
accuracy. You’ll receive basic instruction in the
sport of archery, with an emphasis on safety and
proper use of equipment. Next, we’ll explore New
Jersey and camp at Allaire State Park, just miles
from the Jersey Shore! An opportunity to practice
our aim at a nearby 3-d range will definitely be fun!
Swimming at the beach and hiking will round out
our activities for the week.

Adventure Camp: Killen’s Pond
August 2-6
• Monday-Tuesday, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm

Join us for an Adventure Trek to Delaware’s Killen’s
Pond. Discover the unique ecology of this location
as we enjoy splashing and playing in the popular
Killens Pond Water Park, the only water park of its
kind in Delaware. You’ll also get to explore nearby
nature centers, taking in some fishing and canoeing
at local nature preserves.

Adventure Camp: Locust Lake
and the Anthracite Coal Region
August 9-13
• Monday-Tuesday, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
• Overnight Trip departs Wednesday 9:00 am

Join us for an adventure in Pennsylvania’s
anthracite Coal Region. This week’s adventure trek
will teach you about the history of anthracite coal
mining in Pennsylvania; a tour of a local area mine
will help to illustrate the process of mining. You’ll
also get to visit a Pennsylvania coal town that has
been burning for over 40 years!

Adventure Camp: Cape Henlopen
August 16-20
• Monday-Tuesday, 9:00 am - 3:30 pm
• Overnight Trip departs Wednesday 9:00 am
returns Friday 3:30 pm
• Members: $330
• Non-Members: $350
It’s time to hit the beach! This week’s adventure
trek will take us to Cape Henlopen State Park in
Delaware to learn about coastal habitats. We’ll
sein, hike the beach trails at night and explore the
ocean and bay for natural treasures! We’ll also visit
Prime Hook National Wildlife preserve to check out
the shore birds there. Don’t forget your sunscreen!
