CANCELED – Wellness Saturday: Mindfulness in Nature

Welcome in spring with a variety of wellness programs along our trails. Wellness programs occur on the last Saturday of every month and are free to the public. Donations appreciate.
Take a slow and meandering walk, sit near a tree, rock or stream, and gaze at the sky in what’s called ‘noble silence’. Noble silence refers to what the Buddha did 2500 years ago as he gazed in gratitude at the Bodhi tree, known scientifically as Fiscus religiosa, or sacred fig, as it sheltered him in his final quest for liberation. Relating to nature as a contemplative practice is a way to develop a loving connection with the earth. Simple walking and sitting exercises will help you stay attuned to the natural world as it reflects the rhythms of nature and releases the inner noise.
