Schuylkill Saturday: Self-Guided Nature Exploration for Families
From the colorful autumn leaves to the fresh snow of winter, discover the beauty and wonder along our trails through this FREE weekly self-guided program. Pick up a nature exploration kit at our Visitor Center and then hit the trails to complete the activities inside. Explorer kits can be picked up anytime between 10:00-12:00 on a first-come, first-served basis. Live play-in of Aqua Marooned!
We join with the Mural Arts Institute for a live play-in of Aqua Marooned! as you hike the trails. This event is a family-friendly way to explore our 340 acres of land with the Aqua Marooned! extraterrestrial characters as explorers are sent to learn Earth’s mysterious “watersphere.” Aqua Marooned! is a new card game that premiered in Fall 2021 across the Delaware River Watershed, commissioned by the Alliance for Watershed Education of the Delaware River (AWE). Ring in the holiday season by creating festive wreaths and garlands out of natural materials. Give thanks for the season as we learn about the different vines that can be used for wreath bases and then add pops of color to our creations with fragrant fruits, spices, and leaves. Each family will work together to create one wreath and one garland to either keep or gift. Please dress for the weather. Registration is required.

Think you have what it takes to be a Wildlife Rehabilitator? Grab your little ones and join our Wildlife Clinic staff for an afternoon of interactive activities that will put your skills to the test.
