Since 2000, the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education’s Environmental Art program has provided opportunities for artists and community members to innovate and interpret modern environmental concerns. We believe the creative process is uniquely suited to investigating the historical relationship between humans and the environment and to envisioning paths forward.

Our exhibitions and permanent collections, installed in our indoor gallery and on The Schuylkill Center’s grounds, present new perspectives and functional solutions to address environmental issues of our time. Our public programming ranges from lectures to walks, concerts, workshops, performances and art-making exercises. As special events in conjunction with our art exhibitions, our programming gives audiences of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to engage with environmental art as researchers and explorers. Additionally, we host LandLab, an immersive artist-in-residency program. Click here to learn more about the program and to meet our current artists-in-residence.
