Natural Dyeing with Riverside Plants I (BIPOC only)

June 10, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

$10
An aerial view of a metal pot filled with orange-colored naturally-dyed cloth, steam surrounding the pot and the cloth

In this workshop with LandLab artist-in-residence Bitter Kalli, participants will learn about spring and summer plants found along the Schuylkill River that can be used to create natural dyes. Participants will learn the fundamentals of natural dyeing and then naturally dye their own fabric. Participants are invited to bring their own items of clothing or fabric to dye, but it’s not required; we will provide dye materials and fabric.

This event is specifically for people who identify as Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC). If you do not identify as BIPOC, please attend the second installment of this workshop open to the general public.

Registration is required; space is limited to 10 participants.

This event requires a $10 registration fee. If this cost is prohibitive for you, please write to us at art@schuylkillcenter.org. Funds will directly support the LandLab artist residency program.
