MAKE A DIFFERENCE TODAY FOR GENERATIONS TO COME

Wildlife Clinic

Wildlife rehabilitation is a challenging, demanding, exhilarating, and exhausting field, and it is not for everyone. Volunteers wishing to work at the clinic require so much more than just a love for animals. Volunteers must commit to a minimum of (2) 4 hour shifts per month. More information regarding our onboarding process or volunteer positions can be found here. To support the work we are doing and become part of our team, fill out this form.

Toad Detour

Help protect the local toad population of the Schuylkill Center and the surrounding Roxborough neighborhood as the toads migrate to and from their breeding grounds each spring. When the toads emerge from hibernation in the early spring, hundreds of them cross Port Royal, Hagy's Mill and other nearby roads to mate in the Roxborough Reservoir or the Schuylkill Center's ponds.

Administration, Fundraising and Membership

Internal volunteers assist the organization by managing our receipt program, organizing files, data entry, assisting with direct mailings, assisting with the front desk and other office-related duties.

Environmental Art

Our cutting edge environmental art program incites curiosity and sparks awareness of the natural environment through contemporary art. Volunteers assist with special events and art tours, helping artists to fabricate and install artwork or supporting us behind the scenes, with organizing and researching projects in the art office.

Land and Facilities

Connect with nature and make new friends as we work to improve the health and biodiversity of our forest. With 365 acres, help us preserve the quality of our woodlands, meadows, ponds and streams.

Nature Preschool and Kindergarten

Come and share your expertise and love of nature with our children. Our program immerses children in nature and prepares them for the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical challenges of school. Any interaction with children in Pennsylvania requires PA state clearances and criminal background checks. Additionally, an interview with and approval of the director of Nature Preschool is required.

Public Programs

As a way of supporting our mission of connecting people and nature, we host multiple events throughout the year. Volunteers engage visitors by fostering curiosity, their desire to learn, and their love for nature by leading activities at events.

Photography

We welcome your photographs when visiting our grounds to showcase the beauty of our forest, wildlife, plants, and close-ups of anything you capture digitally. Photos may be used for publication and social media.
