Philly Queer Birders: The Bird Ethic

Join the Schuylkill Center and Philly Queer Birders for a collaborative birding event! On November 18th, come to the Center to learn about birdwatching and view Susan Hagen’s 2023 exhibition, The Bird Ethic, which captures key moments in the history of ornithology and bird conservation. This event is open to Philly Queer Birders and members of the public who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community. Food and drinks will be provided.

From Philly Queer Birders: “We encourage all skill levels to join, even if you have never been birding before! It’s important to create LGBTQIA+ spaces in the outdoors and we strive to make PQB welcoming, accessible, and fun for all those who appreciate birds. Extra binoculars are always available and we try to visit places that are close to public transit. Bring a friend, a partner, the kiddos, or just yourself! We welcome all birders who align with our values, and seek to center the experiences and knowledge of queer people. We hope you’ll join us at an upcoming walk!”
