Volunteer: Native Planters
Want to immerse yourself with nature? Come and learn how to identify native and non-native plants, gardening basics, and more. This group maintains our Courtyard Garden, weekly. Last year the Schuylkill Center brought together Iraqi refugees, U.S. veterans, and the public for the construction of Al Mudhif, entirely made out of invasive wetland reeds. The Iraqi guesthouse and sanctuary served for healing and community in nature. Exactly a year later, this Memorial Day we invite you to a last farewell to the mudhif. Join us as we enrich wildlife habitats along the Wildflower Loop, one of our most beloved trails. Learn more about the afterlife of a tree as we use felled sassafras trees to create habitat both for wildlife and decomposers. MLK Day of Service
Come together to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s legacy at the Schuylkill Center. All members of the community are invited to join us as we work on service projects aimed at protecting the health of our forests as well as supporting our Center. There will be a wide range of service projects available so everyone can participate! Registration required.

Restoration Volunteer Work Day at the Boy Scout Tract
Help steward our newest, soon-to-be permanently preserved natural land, the Boy Scout Tract. Meet us in the parking lot of Higher Ground Church at 7860 Eva Street to assist us in removing invasive plant species, clearing aggressive vines off native trees, and removing unwanted material.
